Turkish Airlines Lost My Baggage
On August 27, 2023, before our 09:30 flight from GAZIANTEP to Ankara and then to London (Stansted Airport) with a layover, we handed over our suitcase to Turkish Airlines during the check-in process. However, after the staff member took our suitcase, she insisted that our cabin baggage also needed to be placed in the cargo hold. Despite our reluctance, we had no choice but to comply. Upon arriving in London, our cabin-sized baggage was not delivered to us. My 15-year-old child, who traveled alone to London, faced significant inconvenience as the suitcase contained important items and medications. We filed a lost baggage report in London and contacted THY multiple times, but we have yet to receive a response. When we finally reached the THY lost baggage contact number, we informed them of our child's situation and the essential items in the suitcase, including medications. The representative told us that the baggage could be found in a day or even a year, and we just had to wait. We cannot understand this level of irresponsibility. Our baggage was forcibly placed in the cargo hold and subsequently lost. We urgently request that this issue be resolved. Our baggage is not something that can be easily mixed up or taken by mistake.
