Turkish Airlines Handled Surname Change on Ticket Due to Marriage In The Worst Way Possible
Had a ticket from Turkish Airlines (THY) and later immediately called customer service to inform them of a surname change due to marriage. They advised me to fill out a feedback form, which I did, and I was subsequently contacted by customer service. Concerned about any issues with my flight the next day, I inquired and was assured, "No problem, just update your surname on Miles and Smiles." To facilitate this, I sent a photo of my marriage certificate. This morning, upon arrival at Cappadocia Airport, I approached a staff member at the third counter (a stout, slim person) and showed the feedback code starting with TK. I even handed them my phone to show the correspondence. After waiting, they returned and claimed, "This code doesn't appear." Before I could react, I found myself in the presence of the police. I cooperated with their investigation, waiting for approximately 40 minutes. Eventually, they said, "Okay," but Turkish Airlines has truly left me regretful. As a doctor, experiencing such inconvenience after going through all the necessary procedures was extremely frustrating. Never again!
