Turkish Airlines Delivered My Bag One Month Late and Severely Damaged
After my connecting trip with Turkish Airlines on flights ET826, ET462, and TK127, my backpack-style checked baggage, which I was supposed to collect in Istanbul, was lost and was only delivered to me approximately one month later, on September 4, 2026. However, when my baggage was finally delivered, I found that my bag was completely torn apart, severely damaged, and unusable.
A report was filed at the airport regarding the condition of the baggage, and I was given report number ISTTK36620. The bag contained my clothes, health and hygiene products, and some food. This situation not only caused me financial and personal inconvenience but also made my travel experience extremely difficult.
Despite this, Turkish Airlines did not provide a satisfactory solution in the email they sent after I submitted my claim. Even though a damage report was officially issued, they continue to insist that I provide the original receipt and bank transaction slip for the bag. I do not remember where or when I purchased the bag, and after this much time, it is not realistic for me to obtain a receipt or bank slip. I have already spent enough time and energy dealing with my baggage being lost and eventually returned in severely damaged condition, and I do not want to spend even more time dealing with these additional demands. I consider this approach unnecessarily burdensome for the customer and not focused on resolving the problem.
I request that Turkish Airlines compensate me for the inconvenience caused by my baggage being delivered late and in severely damaged condition. I also request reasonable compensation for the bag, which has been rendered completely unusable, without requiring me to provide an original receipt or bank transaction slip. I further request that my case be reconsidered and that I receive a clear, written, and satisfactory explanation regarding the resolution of my claim.
If my loss is not compensated, I would like to make it clear that I am considering taking this matter to the appropriate further channels to seek compensation.
