Turkish Airlines Damaged My Baggage
During my trip from Adiyaman to Istanbul with THY on 09.07.2023, I received my newly purchased suitcase with a broken wheel when I collected my baggage in Istanbul. Due to the delay in the baggage arrival and my baby being restless in my arms, I didn't have time to file a report and left the area. Later, I applied to the baggage irregularity unit and sent the necessary photos and documents within a week. After a few days, I received an email stating that my application had been transferred to the compensation unit. However, my application was canceled because I didn't file a report at the airport. This is unacceptable. How am I supposed to find the baggage irregularity unit in a huge terminal with a baby in my arms? I demand that my grievance be resolved. I will also file a complaint with the Consumer Arbitration Committee and CIMER.
According to THY's website:
For damaged or missing items, if the damage is not immediately visible or the missing items are not immediately noticed, you can apply to the baggage irregularity notification and tracking page within 7 days from your travel date. During the application, don't forget to attach photos of the damaged area or a priced list of the missing items to your file.
