Turkish Airlines Denied Compensation for the Damaged Luggage

On August 16, 2023, I flew with THY from Ankara to Istanbul to Dushanbe. Upon arriving in Dushanbe and retrieving my luggage, I noticed that my suitcase was broken. I immediately visited the THY website to find out what needed to be done and read the following statement: 'If you notice damage to your baggage or missing items after leaving the airport, you must submit a written application with the specified documents through the baggage irregularity reporting and tracking page on our website within 7 days. Applications exceeding this period will not be considered due to international agreements.' I uploaded the necessary documents on the website and submitted my online application on the day of arrival with application number 2023180043. However, my claim was denied because I did not file a report at the airport. What kind of logic is this? If this information had not been on your website, I would have returned to the THY Dushanbe Airport office to file a report. I am disappointed with THY, it has shattered my trust. However, I am sure that if I were a foreign customer, the situation would have been very different. I wish you happiness with your valued foreign customers.
