Turkish Airlines Cancelled My Return Flight Due to System Error – Forced to Buy New Ticket
On September 26, 2024, I flew from Istanbul to Chișinău with a return flight booked for September 28, 2024, through Turkish Airlines (THY). Despite having all the proof—boarding pass, camera footage, and an entry stamp in my passport confirming my flight—I was informed that THY's system showed my outbound ticket (2352232362087) as unused, marking it as "open." Because of this, THY refused to let me check in for my return flight on September 28.
I spent two hours at Chișinău Airport trying to resolve the issue with both Moldova and Turkey’s call centers, but nothing was done. In the end, I had to buy a new ticket last minute to return to Turkey. This situation is entirely due to THY's system errors, and I demand a refund for the unused return ticket I paid for. This level of service is not what I expect from our national carrier, and I urge THY to resolve this promptly.
