@TurkishAirlines My flight TK82 Boston to Istanbul got cancelled on July 27th. I am a mother traveling solo with her baby. Call center told us to EITHER: reschedule our flight without being able to guarantee a bassinet seat (possibility to hold my baby in my lap for 10 hours) OR to refund me and rebook by my own (so booking a flight with a departure date of 1-3days, and paying triple). When I asked if there were any seat in Business, I was told I can’t be upgraded without paying the difference because I have an economy ticket. Such a shame of Turkish airlines that they couldn’t spare a mom traveling solo with her baby a stress free seat. When I asked the call center representative “What about my miserable day? How is that compensated for?”, the answer was that my life was saved by not taking off. Thanks for not killing me! My husband filled a feedback form up stating the situation and asking for guidance but we received and email saying that there were technical issues with the flight and they try to be on time with all of their times. IT didn't even include an apology! He reached out to the call center as well. The call center offered us a ticket with a layover! The only reason why I picked THY is because of the fact it's a direct flight and I am flying with a baby. When you check online you can still book a direct flight ticket for the 27th and 28th. When we mentioned that we were told they are spare tickets. So they are just overbooking the flight. When we asked if we can get that ticket, we were put on hold and then the call center representative just hung up. What a shame THY! I am not recommending THY to anybody who has a child. Unreasonable solutions with no empathy.
