Turkish Airlines Account Name Update Issue at Dalaman Airport
At Dalaman Airport, the Turkish Airlines ticketing staff seem to create problems out of boredom or idleness. I requested twice to update my new surname on my Turkish Airlines account, but it was not updated. I purchased a ticket through my account, and my old surname appeared on the ticket. At Dalaman Airport, I was told that I needed to present an ID or document with my old surname. I showed a verifiable, barcode-stamped population registration sample from the e-government system, but it was not accepted. They insisted on a physical ID card. I have never encountered such nonsense where a barcode-stamped document is not accepted in official transactions. No other airport, including those in Istanbul, creates arbitrary procedures like this. They sent me to the police cabin for a background check. Despite my ID number and all my information matching my ID card and official institution ID, these so-called responsible staff wasted my time, causing me to barely make it to baggage drop-off at the last minute. I hope at least a warning is given to these staff members.
