THY Flight Cancellation Due to Staff Issues!
On 13.06.2024, I purchased round-trip tickets for Istanbul - Hurghada for 2 adults, scheduled for 22.08.2024 - 30.08.2024. THY informed me via message that my return flight on 30.08.2024 was canceled due to a staff-related issue. When I contacted THY, they offered me two options: either change my flight to 29.08.2024 or 31.08.2024 at no extra cost. Since I will be on vacation and staying at a hotel, I would either have to leave the hotel a day early, essentially paying for an extra day, or extend my stay by one day, which would cost me an additional 360 USD. THY claims that since they notified me 14 days in advance, I am not entitled to compensation. What a situation, we buy plane tickets, and THY cancels them due to staff issues, leaving us in a difficult position. THY, I am very disappointed with this approach.
