I Experienced Inconvenience Due To Flight Time Change Of Turkish Airlines
On April 17, 2024, I purchased tickets through THY for a flight from Dalaman to Istanbul, followed by a flight from Istanbul to Ordu-Giresun. When I bought the Dalaman-Istanbul flight ticket, the departure time was 00:10, and since I was coming from abroad, I had planned everything according to this schedule. Two days ago, I received an email informing me that the flight had been moved 1 hour and 30 minutes earlier, now departing at 22:40. My flight to Turkey lands in Dalaman at 21:50, leaving only a 50-minute gap, making it impossible for me to catch the flight due to reasons beyond my control. Consequently, I will also miss my morning flight to Ordu-Giresun. I submitted feedback with the reference number TK-10609527 through THY and requested a refund for both tickets. I was informed that only the first ticket could be refunded and that the second ticket could not be refunded because the flights were not booked as connected flights. I cannot be expected to know all the pricing, refund, and operational processes of the company. I am not at fault for not booking connected flights. The flight might have been rescheduled for operational reasons, but even requesting a refund for the tickets purchased through THY is problematic. I now have to book another flight with a different company via Istanbul to ensure I am in Giresun at the required time. This will also involve a separate journey from Trabzon to Giresun, costing me additional time and money. Such confusion and inconvenience are not befitting a large company like THY. I demand the resolution of my grievances and a full refund without deductions, and I seek compensation for my losses. If the refund is not processed, I will pursue legal action.
