Issues with Turkish Airlines International Baggage Allowance and Customer Inconvenience

I purchased separate tickets from Medina to Sabiha Gokcen for myself and 10 friends (2352214796730). Everyone confirmed their baggage allowance as 20+8 kg. However, I realized my baggage allowance was 8+0 kg. Upon checking, I discovered I made an error while purchasing the ticket in a hurry.

To resolve this issue, I tried contacting +908503330849 and +908503332538 from abroad multiple times but couldn't get through. I then tried WhatsApp, but my issue remained unresolved. I also submitted a callback request.

On 18.01.2024 at 22:37, I received a call from +90 444 0 849. I explained the situation to Ms. C****, who checked if she could help and said she could correct the ticket and add a 20 kg baggage allowance for an additional ₺452. Before, during, and after the payment, I repeatedly confirmed that my issue was resolved.

Believing my baggage allowance was updated, I went shopping around 23:00 to fill a 20 kg suitcase. I bought a new suitcase, dates, toys, prayer rugs, and many other items. Everything seemed fine until I arrived at the airport.

Unfortunately, I was wrong! At the airport, I was informed that my baggage allowance was still 0 kg. I explained the situation and was directed to the THY office.

The office staff also confirmed that I had no baggage allowance and couldn't help. They suggested purchasing extra baggage allowance, but I didn't want to pay nearly ₺8000 for items worth around ₺8000.

Unable to get help from the office, I called +90 444 0 849 again and spoke with Mr. B****, who reiterated what the office staff said and stated there was nothing they could do.

Now, at 2 AM, who will account for me being stranded abroad with my suitcase? Who will account for the shopping I did to return to my country? Who will account for the ₺452 taken for an unresolved issue? The financial and emotional loss is far greater than the amount paid.

Your company has wasted my time and money, causing me significant distress. This is not befitting of THY! I want you to know that I will initiate all necessary legal actions regarding this matter.
