Issue with Excess Baggage Fees on THY Flight from Kahramanmaraş to Pristina

On June 13, 2024, I took my wife and our two children, one 10 months old and the other 5 years old, to Kahramanmaraş Airport for their flight to Pristina. After completing the check-in process for the Istanbul flight, my wife wanted to check in two cabin bags weighing 16 kg each along with the regular baggage, but she was denied. Despite explaining that handling these bags with two children would be impossible, we were charged ₺3480. I fail to understand the difference between having a bag in the cabin or in the other compartment if it doesn't exceed the weight limit. What upset us further was a similar incident where a woman asked a staff member to check in her bags while boarding the flight to Pristina in Istanbul, and the staff accepted. We never faced such an issue with Pegasus Airlines. My wife tearfully paid the fee and boarded the plane with our children. This is such a lack of care and sensitivity. I still hold Turkish Airlines in high regard and believe they are unaware of this issue. I request that the responsible person at Kahramanmaraş Airport be warned and penalized, and that our grievance be addressed.
