SunExpress Diverted My Flight and Delayed My Arrival by 3 Hours
I traveled on January 19, 2026, on SunExpress flight XQ 9022 departing from İzmir Airport, which was scheduled to take off at 8:50 PM and land at Hatay Airport. However, even though the ticket I purchased was for Hatay, the aircraft landed at Çukurova Airport instead. Because of this unplanned change, I had to continue my journey to Hatay at my own expense by bus.
As a result of this situation, I incurred additional transportation costs, lost time, and arrived in Hatay much later than planned. If I had originally purchased a ticket to Çukurova Airport, I could have bought it at a much lower price. Instead, I paid for a Hatay flight and still had to arrange and pay for my own transportation from Çukurova to Hatay.
Additionally, because I reached my final destination with an approximate delay of three hours, I believe I am entitled to compensation arising from this delay under applicable passenger rights regulations. I request that my bus travel expenses from Çukurova to Hatay be reimbursed and that compensation be paid for the approximately three-hour delay I experienced. I kindly ask that my complaint be reviewed and that I be contacted with a fair resolution.
They did not refund the ticket fee or said I had no right to compensation, but they covered the bus ticket expenses I paid while traveling from Çukurova to Hata.
