Pegasus Charged Me €50 for Cabin Bag Despite Prepaying for Luggage on Connecting Flight
On June 12, 2025, I booked Pegasus flights PC2243 (BJY–SAW) and PC1213 (SAW–BGY) with a connecting layover in Istanbul. During the booking, I paid extra for both 20 kg of checked luggage and cabin baggage. My carry-on backpack and cabin-sized suitcase complied with the airline's weight and size limits.
When I boarded my first flight from Bodrum to Istanbul, there was no issue. My baggage was accepted without any notice or warning. However, at the gate for my connecting flight from Istanbul to Bergamo, Pegasus staff abruptly confiscated my cabin bag, claiming it had to go in the aircraft hold and demanded an additional €50 payment—despite my pre-purchased allowance.
This felt like an unjust penalty for something I had already paid for and was allowed to use on the first leg of my journey. No explanation was given as to why it suddenly became a problem on the connecting flight. This is not how a professional airline should treat paying customers.
I demand a full refund of the €50 I was wrongly charged. Pegasus should honor the services passengers pay for and stop penalizing travelers arbitrarily. This experience left me frustrated, disappointed, and questioning whether I’ll ever fly with them again.
