I purchased a ticket from Pegasus Airlines for the Sabiha Gökçen to Skopje flight on 24/07/2024 at 19:25. The ticket I bought did not include cabin or checked baggage, only a small under-seat bag allowance of up to 3 kg. Before leaving home, I weighed my bag to confirm it was approximately 3 kg.
However, at the airport, Pegasus staff insisted on weighing my bag before I could board the plane. To my shock, the same bag that I confirmed was 3 kg at home suddenly weighed 9.5 kg on their mechanical-electronic scale, which appeared unreliable and inaccurate. They demanded I pay 50 euros, or they wouldn’t allow me to board the flight. Despite my protests that the bag did not weigh as much as they claimed, they threatened that I either pay the 50 euros, leave my bag behind at the airport, or I wouldn’t be allowed on the plane at all.
Not wanting to miss my flight and waste my ticket, I reluctantly agreed to pay the excessive baggage fee, which was over 400 lira, hoping this would resolve the issue. But even then, they refused to accept that payment and continued to demand the full 50 euros. Their aggressive and disrespectful behavior left me with no choice but to pay the exorbitant fee to avoid further conflict and to ensure that the other passengers, who had mostly boarded, were not delayed.
This last-minute chaos, designed to apply psychological pressure, was an unfair and unlawful way to extract money from passengers. I demand that Pegasus Airlines refund the 50 euros they wrongfully charged me. This is not the kind of behavior I expect from a reputable airline, and I request the swift return of my money.
