Open English Charged Renewal Fee Without Consent After Inactive Membership

About a year ago, I purchased the “General English” package annual membership from Open English. However, I found the platform unhelpful and have not used the service for about nine months. During the subscription process, I was not clearly informed that my membership would be automatically renewed with monthly charges once the annual term ended.

On September 13, 2025, my account (subscription number: OE-S03144112) was charged for a one-month renewal fee via credit card without my explicit approval. Immediately after noticing the charge—within about five minutes—I contacted customer service to request a refund. However, I was told that while my membership would not be renewed further, the monthly fee already charged would not be refunded.

I am paying for a service that I have not used for months and have no intention of using in the future. As a customer, I consider this unauthorized automatic renewal and fee deduction unfair and misleading.

I request a full refund of the monthly payment that was charged without my consent.
