Mavi Refuses Return Without Receipt for Defective Jeans

I have a pair of Mavi jeans that were purchased as a gift last summer. Since the jeans were too tight, I barely wore them, and they have been sitting in my closet. Recently, when I checked the pants, I noticed noticeable yellowing around the cuffs and knee areas. Even though the product was hardly used, it has become discolored in this way.

I contacted Mavi customer service to report the issue and seek a solution. I explained that the jeans were a gift and that I do not have the receipt, but that they were purchased from Mavi last year. Despite this, I was told that they could not process anything without a receipt.

I do not find it acceptable that a pair of Mavi jeans that were barely worn would yellow in such a short period of time. Even without a receipt, I am requesting that the product be inspected through your system using the product code and label information, and that I be assisted with an exchange or refund because this appears to be a defective product.
