In 2023, I purchased a Samsung 43AU8000 model television. Over time, a shadow started to appear on the right side of the screen. At first, we thought this was related to the broadcast or channel, so we did not pay much attention to it. However, when a guest who is knowledgeable about televisions visited, we realized that this was actually a defect.

When we looked into it, we found that the warranty had just expired. At the time I bought this TV, I also had the option to purchase a 50-inch Toshiba TV for half the price. My friend bought that model at a lower cost and has had no issues, while I chose Samsung, trusting the brand and paying more, and now I am facing this problem.

I sent photos of the issue to the authorized Samsung service center in Osmaniye Kadirli, and on March 16, 2026, I was informed that the repair would cost approximately $155.

We are consumers in the 50–60 age group and are not very familiar with technology. It is possible that this defect began during the warranty period, but we did not recognize it in time. Now, being faced with such a high repair cost—especially from a brand like Samsung that we trusted for quality—makes me feel misled and disadvantaged.

For this reason, I request that Samsung take this situation into consideration and offer a solution such as a free repair, a reasonably discounted repair, or a replacement device. I ask that my grievance be resolved and that other consumers in similar situations are not treated unfairly.
