I booked a stay at Blue Horizon Istanbul Hotel through Hotels.com, relying on the photos and descriptions listed on the site. What I walked into, however, was nothing close to what was promised. I was given a basement-level room—completely different from what I saw online. It was old, poorly maintained, had no air conditioning, and lacked proper ventilation. It was so bad that I couldn’t bring myself to stay even a single night. I left immediately.
When I requested a refund, Hotels.com said they would check with the hotel, but their response was a vague, “We can’t guarantee a refund.” How is this acceptable? I trusted the platform to list verified and quality accommodations, but clearly, no one checks if the listings reflect reality.
It’s unacceptable that such a low-standard room is being sold under false pretenses. I’m deeply disappointed in both the hotel and Hotels.com. I demand a full refund and urge Hotels.com to thoroughly vet the properties they feature. Misleading photos and ignoring customer complaints is disrespectful and dishonest. I expect this issue to be addressed immediately.
