I booked a room through Hotels.com, but the hotel contacted me directly, urging me to cancel due to a "price update." Instead, I called Hotels.com's customer service. They assured me that if the hotel canceled, they would make every effort to accommodate me and find alternative accommodations for the same dates. When I contacted Hotels.com for the alternative arrangements they had promised, they shockingly informed me that they had canceled my reservation without securing a new one. This left me high and out of luck. Despite their earlier assurances that they were on my side, Hotels.com caused me frustration and inconvenience.
