I Booked on Hotels.com but Found Out 15 Days Later the Hotel Was Overbooked

I made a hotel reservation through Hotels.com, expecting everything to be confirmed and secure. But 15 days later, I received a call—not from Hotels.com, but directly from the hotel—informing me that they were overbooked and I could no longer stay there. This was a total shock, especially since no one from Hotels.com even bothered to notify me.
I had already made travel plans based on this reservation. The hotel told me to cancel, but Hotels.com remained completely silent. Worse, trying to reach their customer service is a nightmare—there's no clear way to get help, no proper support, and no accountability.
This lack of communication is outrageous. If a reservation becomes invalid for any reason, Hotels.com should be the first to inform the customer and offer immediate solutions. Instead, I was left to find out last minute, with no alternative and no assistance.
