Hotels.com Overcharged My Reservation – No Prompt Support for Refund

I booked a hotel through Hotels.com for October 26-29, but the charge to my bank account was higher than what was shown on my receipt. My reservation starts tomorrow, and despite reaching out to their virtual customer service, I was told that they’d get back to me within 24 hours – which doesn’t help, given that my stay is so soon. So far, I’ve received no explanation or solution regarding this overcharge. I expected accurate billing and quicker support, especially when the issue is due to an error on Hotels.com's end. I need this resolved immediately and for Hotels.com to provide the correct refund.
