Remitly Sent Me a Transfer Cancellation Text I Never Authorized
On April 1, I received an SMS on my phone saying: “Your Remitly transfer r18471121587 has been canceled. B131.” I do not know what Remitly is, I have never created an account, and I have no knowledge of any transaction made using my name or phone number.
Receiving a message like this—implying that a transaction exists in my name without my knowledge or consent—is extremely disturbing. I am concerned about how my personal data and phone number were obtained and how such a transfer record could have been created.
I request that Remitly provide a written explanation stating whether there is any account or transaction associated with my name or phone number, specifically regarding transfer number r18471121587 and code B131. If any record or account has been created using my name or phone number, I demand that all such records be deleted immediately, that processing of my personal data be stopped, and that no further messages be sent to me.
