I made two hotel reservations through Booking.com for my trip to Austria, and without my knowledge or consent, both reservations were canceled by Booking.com. I was never notified about these cancellations in advance. I had submitted these reservation confirmations as part of my Austrian national visa application, and because the bookings were suddenly canceled, my visa application was flagged as suspicious and ultimately denied.
When I checked my Booking.com account, I confirmed that both reservations had been canceled, but the platform did not provide any clear explanation regarding who initiated the cancellation — whether it was the accommodation provider or Booking.com itself. This lack of transparency has left me confused and frustrated.
To support my visa appeal, I contacted Booking.com customer service and requested an official statement. They sent me two emails in English confirming that the cancellations were done by Booking.com itself. I plan to include these emails in my visa appeal, but I am uncertain whether this will resolve the issue or not.
I kindly request Booking.com to take full responsibility for these unauthorized cancellations, provide a formal apology, and offer additional support for my visa appeal. This situation has caused me significant emotional distress and financial loss. Please investigate this matter urgently and ensure that such critical mistakes do not happen to other travelers in the future.
