Booking.com Refused Refund Despite Medical Emergency and Re-Listed My Canceled Stay

We made a hotel reservation through Booking.com, but unfortunately could not check in due to a documented medical emergency. We had a valid doctor’s report, and even our boarding passes to prove we were ready to travel before this urgent situation arose.
Despite providing all the necessary documentation, no refund was issued. The full amount was charged, with no understanding or flexibility shown, even though this wasn’t a cancellation for leisure or convenience—it was an unavoidable and serious health matter.
To make things worse, we noticed that after we canceled, Booking.com re-listed the same room for others to book. So not only did they keep our money, but they also profited twice from the same reservation.
Booking.com, this is unacceptable. If you claim to support your users and offer flexible options, then back it up with action during real emergencies. I demand a full refund and an apology for how this was handled. Your current practices are both insensitive and unethical.
