We made a reservation through Booking.com at the Titanic Chaussee Berlin Hotel, with check-in on December 6, 2025, and check-out on December 10, 2025. During the reservation process, the total price displayed—including 7% VAT and 7.5% city tax—was €552.42. However, at the payment stage, we were charged €593.85, resulting in an overcharge of €41.43.
When we checked into the hotel, we noticed this issue and brought it to the attention of the front desk staff. We explained that we had already paid VAT and the city tax and that the amount charged was higher than the total shown on the reservation screen. However, the hotel staff could not provide a clear or satisfactory explanation and simply told us to contact Booking.com, offering no assistance.
I do not accept being charged additional fees beyond the taxes and total amount clearly stated during the reservation process. I request a refund of the overcharged €41.43 and a clear explanation from both Booking.com and the hotel regarding how and why this discrepancy occurred.
