Unexpected Hotel Charge from Booking.com
In early November, I made a hotel reservation through Booking.com for my visa application. I had selected the option to pay at the hotel for my payment method, and the reservation could be cancelled depending on my visa status. A few days later, on November 11, 2023, a charge of €370.80 appeared on my account. Upon reaching out to the hotel, they promptly clarified that the charge was a result of a system error on the part of Booking.com. They kindly suggested that I pursue a refund directly from Booking.
I contacted Booking.com through email, and they asked me to provide my payment receipt and account statement for that specific time frame. I submitted all the required paperwork, and they assured me that they would examine it and respond to me promptly. Unfortunately, it's been six months and I'm yet to receive any feedback. It's frustrating that a company of Booking.com's size has taken so long to address a single transaction issue.
