I previously made a hotel reservation through Booking.com and completed the payment successfully. However, after the booking, the hotel contacted me via the Booking.com app and email, asking me to approve a test payment for confirmation. Since the message came directly from Booking.com’s official communication channels, I trusted it and approved the test charge.
To my shock, two separate withdrawals totaling €776 (₺ equivalent) were taken from my account. As an Erasmus student, this amount is absolutely overwhelming—it’s equivalent to my rent for three months. I had trusted Booking.com’s reputation and security, and now I’m in a financial crisis. I don’t know what to do next. I’m seriously worried about ending up homeless because of this issue.
Booking.com must take immediate responsibility. I am requesting a full and urgent refund of the €776 that was charged without my clear consent. I expect Booking.com to provide real customer protection, especially in situations where your platform is being used for fraudulent double charges. I cannot afford to lose this money.
