At 3:40 AM, €66 (₺) was withdrawn from my account without my consent or knowledge via the Booking.com app. I was fortunately awake at that hour and quickly moved the remaining balance in my account to a different one and canceled my card immediately.
Just 12 minutes later, at 3:52 AM, another attempt was made for a ₺4123 transaction, which thankfully failed due to insufficient funds. I want to emphasize that I had only downloaded the Booking.com app to browse hotel prices. I never signed in, never entered my email or phone number, and never made a reservation.
There is absolutely no reason Booking.com should have had access to my card, especially considering I hadn’t shared any personal or payment details through the app. This was a serious security breach.
I demand an immediate refund of the €66, the cancellation of any pending or future transactions, and a thorough explanation of how unauthorized access to my account and funds was possible. Booking.com needs to take urgent action to investigate this issue and restore trust by protecting users who haven’t even logged in or booked anything.
