Booking.com Billed 420 Euros Instead of Quoted 318 Euros for Sharm Resort Stay
While creating my reservation with confirmation number 6550.824.809 for the Sharm Resort (Egypt) hotel via Booking.com, the total amount displayed on the payment page was 318 EUR. However, immediately after approving the single payment transaction, I noticed that 420 EUR was deducted from my Yapı Kredi credit card without my knowledge or consent.
The collection of an additional 102 EUR in taxes/fees—which was not displayed on the payment confirmation screen and was in no way specified to me beforehand—violates both transparent pricing principles and consumer rights. I only accepted the amount of 318 EUR that was visible and approved on the payment screen; I absolutely did not approve any hidden extra charges beyond that.
Therefore, I demand that the reservation in question be canceled free of charge without any penalty or deduction, and that the entire amount of 420 EUR drawn from my card be refunded to me. I request to be informed as soon as possible after a thorough investigation of this matter.
