I have been an Amazon.com customer in the United States for approximately 15 years, and my account was suddenly closed on 03/21/2026, right after I made a purchase for a digital Xbox gift card. At the time, I was in the process of switching to a new phone and was still logged into my Amazon account on my old phone, in case this is relevant to any security checks. I had no prior warnings, issues, or policy violations on this account, and I have always used it in a normal way without VPNs, foreign addresses, or unusual payment methods. After the purchase, I was asked to unlock my account using a passkey. When I did so, I received a message stating that the information I provided was insufficient to verify payment ownership, that any pending transactions had been cancelled, and that if I believed this was a mistake, I should contact Amazon customer service. When I reached out to customer service, instead of properly verifying my identity or giving me a detailed explanation, I was only told that I had to create a new account. I was not asked for any information, such as my past orders, addresses, or payment details, that could prove that I am the legitimate owner of this account, which I have been using for many years without any problems. I find it unacceptable that a long-standing account of about 15 years can be closed in this way, without a clear reason or a proper verification process, and that the only answer given is to start over with a new account. I am requesting that my existing Amazon.com account be fully reviewed and reopened, and that any mistaken flags on my account be removed. I also expect a clear written explanation of why this closure occurred and what was found during the review, so that this situation does not happen again.
