Problems with Agoda Bookings, Payment, and Hotel Limitations
For my reservation with number 1010110404 through the Agoda app, the hotel stated that Agoda serves foreign guests and that, as a resident of Turkey, I should not book through this platform. They also mentioned that they would request additional payments upon my arrival at the hotel. Otherwise, they could not provide services. They noted that I could check in with a foreign passport, which was not applicable in my case.
Although I made the reservation from Turkey, it was considered a United States booking. I pointed out that the application is in Turkish and did not ask for passport details. It was then mentioned that the payment was made in euros, even though I paid in TL through Agoda.
Can you help in resolving the issue? The additional money requested exceeds half of the total hotel price. I would not want to cancel the reservation, as it indicates that in the case of cancellation, 60% of the amount would be retained. However, I would agree to a full refund of the amount, i.e., 100%, in case of cancellation.
