Yapi Kredi Bank Refuses to Help a Survivor of the February Earthquake in Hatay
As a survivor of the February 6 earthquake in Hatay, I've been working hard to rebuild my life in the aftermath of this disaster. In my time of need, I turned to Yapi Kredi Bank for assistance, specifically seeking a no-interest debt restructuring. I'd like to emphasize that I wasn't looking for debt forgiveness, but rather a reasonable debt restructuring option. However, this bank, which appears to have lost its humanity and conscience, flatly refused my request. It's disheartening that a bank refuses to offer debt restructuring in a city where residents are already struggling to overcome enormous challenges. I intend to take this matter to court and through the proper government channels. But I'm also deciding to cut ties with this heartless institution. I encourage everyone who reads this to do the same. With over 50,000 people killed in the earthquake, it's disheartening that some people remain unconcerned. Beginning today, I will begin the process of closing all accounts held by my family members with this bank. May God lead them down a more compassionate road.
