Peugeot 408 Would Not Start Just Three Days After Purchase

Five days ago, I purchased a 2023 Peugeot 408 with approximately 55,000 km from a Peugeot/Spoticar dealership in Kahramanmaraş for approximately $41,000. Just three days after purchasing the vehicle, it would not start, and I had to use a jump start to get it running. Since then, the vehicle has continued to experience electrical power interruptions.

I immediately reported the problem to the dealership and took the vehicle to the Koluman authorized service center in Şehitkamil, Gaziantep. I was told, “Use the vehicle, make an appointment, and if it does not start again, have it brought in by a tow truck.” As a customer who knows how to schedule a service appointment, I do not consider it a solution-oriented approach to tell me that I should simply wait until I am stranded again, especially when a vehicle that is only five days old failed to start on its third day and continues to have electrical problems. Furthermore, I was not given any service record, work order number, or other documentation during this visit.

In addition to the electrical and starting problems, the vehicle also has transmission vibration and brake pad-related issues. Spoticar’s official website clearly states that its vehicles are offered with up to 12 months of unlimited-mileage warranty coverage, a 100-point inspection, 24/7 roadside assistance, and a 10-day/1,000-km easy return or exchange guarantee. Despite these assurances, I cannot accept being expected to wait until I am stranded again with a vehicle that stopped working just three days after purchase and continues to experience electrical problems.

My request is for the vehicle to be urgently and thoroughly inspected by an authorized service center, for the exact cause of the electrical and starting problems to be identified, for the transmission and brake pad issues to be checked, and for all necessary repairs or corrective actions to be carried out promptly under warranty. I also request that my rights under Spoticar’s 10-day/1,000-km return or exchange guarantee be evaluated by Spoticar and Stellantis Türkiye.

I cannot reconcile the approach taken by the dealership and customer service center with a genuine commitment to customer satisfaction. After paying approximately $41,000 for a vehicle, I do not consider it acceptable to experience this level of trouble by the fifth day of ownership. I request that Stellantis Türkiye and Spoticar headquarters urgently investigate this matter and provide me with a concrete and permanent solution. Otherwise, I reserve all of my legal rights and will pursue them using all records and documentation in my possession.
