Turkish Airlines Flight Cancellations and Refund Issues
We experienced the February 6 earthquake in our home in Hatay. We lost and buried our loved ones. We couldn't enter our home and couldn't find a place to stay. Our car was stuck in the rubble and was completely unusable. We were trying to move away from the earthquake zone. On February 20, I bought a ticket from Turkish Airlines to Istanbul, and I was notified via message that my flight was canceled. I called customer service the same day, and they informed me that they could hold my ticket open, allowing me to get a refund within a year or fly to Istanbul from regional airports within two years. On March 12, I bought a return ticket from Istanbul to Hatay. Two days before the flight, I was informed that this flight was also canceled. When I spoke with customer service, they said that my tickets were also held open under the same conditions. Yesterday, when I called customer service to rebook my tickets, they told me they could only issue a refund and couldn't rebook the tickets. We bought tickets with our limited budget after the earthquake, and now that ticket prices have increased, their attempt to refund us is not fitting for such a large company. It made us very sad. We created a new record and requested a review of the records. We expressed the urgency of the situation, but there has been no response, and they consistently refuse to provide a timeline. It is unreasonable for such a large company to create problems with tickets arranged under such difficult circumstances from the earthquake zone. #turkishairlines #THY @THY @turkishairlines
