I made a reservation with Turkish Airlines for a flight on September 8th, with the reservation number UPT6BC, paying the 7-day reservation fee. However, when I tried to pay for the ticket before the reservation period ended, the THY payment system continuously failed, logging me out repeatedly. Despite numerous attempts, I was unable to complete the payment, and my reservation period expired.
I called the customer service center, explained the situation, and expressed my urgency in needing to purchase the ticket due to an important meeting. They had me fill out a complaint form, but the next day I received an email stating that they could not refund the reservation fee as per my request. This response was completely off-base, as customer relations did not even understand my request correctly. I clearly stated that I had tried to purchase my ticket before the reservation period ended, but due to the THY payment system malfunction, I was unable to do so. If they check their system, they will see how many times I tried to access it in time.
Now, my ticket has been canceled due to an issue that was not my fault. Why was my ticket canceled when it was the THY system’s failure? Instead of resolving my issue, the call center didn’t even understand the problem and sent a meaningless response. I will be filing a complaint with the Consumer Rights Office on Monday regarding Turkish Airlines.
