I have made a reservation for a round-trip flight with Turkish Airlines. The departure is scheduled from Sabiha Gokcen to Bodrum on March 23rd, 2024, and the return is on March 26th, 2024. Nevertheless, Turkish Airlines later notified me that the return flight scheduled for March 26th had been canceled, and they proposed rescheduling me for a flight on March 27th.
I contacted customer service to inform them that I have work scheduled on March 27th and had already made all the necessary preparations for a return on March 26th. I was informed that there were no other available flights, however, upon checking Anadolu Jet, I discovered that there were indeed alternative flights on that particular day.
Given the impracticality of proceeding with the trip without the ability to return promptly, I requested the cancellation of the entire booking. Unfortunately, Turkish Airlines declined my request to cancel my outbound and return flights, and they were unable to provide a refund.
I have experienced both financial loss and emotional distress due to Turkish Airlines. I am confident in my position, therefore I have taken the necessary steps to address my concerns by filing a complaint with the Consumer Arbitration Committee. I'm really hoping for a win and I'll definitely share the outcome with everyone here.
I am extremely let down by the way Turkish Airlines, a company that aims to be a global brand with a strong focus on customer satisfaction, has treated me. My flight was unexpectedly altered without my permission, and surprisingly, no consideration was given to my accommodation or work obligations. Customer service just responded, "That's your ticket, how can we assist you?"
When a flight is canceled, it is important to provide a refund to the customer and consider offering compensation as well. Instead of receiving an apology, I ended up losing my money.
