Turkish Airlines Multiple Flight Delays and Terrible Customer Service
My flight from Ankara to Istanbul, scheduled for 11:55, was delayed twice. After speaking with at least eight Turkish Airlines (THY) employees, they assured me that I would make my 15:05 flight to Barcelona, but that all THY flights were delayed. I had to run for miles to reach Gate F17 after landing in Istanbul, which is billed as the world's largest airport. When I arrived, the gate was closed and there was no sign of a THY representative. I had to go back and find the THY counter, where they gave me a ticket for 20:15. There will be no assistance or apologies! In the midst of a humiliating environment surrounded by people from other countries, I find myself waiting for 5.5 hours at the ostensibly prestigious IGA terminal, all because THY, on the same aircraft, experienced two delays of 50 minutes and 30 minutes. THY is finished. It has lost its credibility and respect. Is this the service for which we pay so much? Will I ever again use THY?
