Turkish Airlines Won't Let Me Upgrade to Business Class Using Miles
Turkish Airlines does not allow the use of miles. I purchased round-trip tickets from San Francisco to Istanbul for my wife and children. I paid for the return flight in business class. Thinking that I could upgrade the outbound flight to business class using the 140,000 miles I had accumulated, I initially purchased economy. Unfortunately, it turns out that this is not possible. We have to wait for an offer to be made first. For this reason, we have to call every day to inquire if there is an offer. My flight is in 8 months. To be able to perform the cabin upgrade process advertised when enrolling people in their miles program, I have to chase after this company for 8 months, spending at least 10 minutes on the phone every day. If I can't upgrade to business class, my wife, my 3-year-old daughter, and my 8-month-old baby will have to endure a cramped 12-hour flight in economy. This company does not keep its promises to customers and does everything in its power to prevent the use of earned miles. I demand that the cabin upgrade process I am entitled to with my accumulated miles be carried out.
