Amazon Web Services Charges $900 Without Authorization
On August 8, 2026, two unauthorized charges were made from my bank account under the description “Amazon Web Services,” first for $600 and immediately afterward for another $300, for a total of $900 ($303). I did not authorize either transaction, and I do not have any Amazon membership, orders, or services purchased through Amazon.
As soon as I noticed these transactions, I contacted my bank, Yapı Kredi, and filed a dispute. I was informed that the transactions are currently under investigation for a period of 60 days. However, I do not accept the fact that two consecutive charges were made without my authorization using my name and account, and this situation is extremely concerning and unsettling to me.
I urgently request that Amazon.com investigate how these unauthorized transactions were made using my name, identify which account they were processed through and how they were initiated, and determine how my information became associated with these transactions. I also request that Amazon promptly communicate with my bank as necessary to ensure that the full unauthorized amount is refunded. In addition, I expect Amazon to review its security procedures to prevent similar incidents from happening to other customers and provide me with a written explanation of the findings and actions taken.
