Turkish Airlines Miles Not Usable for Upgrade
Turkish Airlines is not allowing me to use my miles. I bought round-trip tickets from San Francisco to Istanbul for my wife and children. I paid for the return flight in business class. For the outbound flight, I purchased economy tickets thinking I could upgrade to business class using my 140,000 miles. Unfortunately, this is not possible. We have to wait for an offer to come through, and we need to call every day to check if there is an offer. My flight is 8 months away. To utilize the cabin upgrade advertised in their mileage program, which I earned by accumulating miles, I have to chase this company for 8 months and spend at least 10 minutes on the phone daily. If I can't upgrade to business class, my wife, my 3-year-old daughter, and my 8-month-old baby will have to endure a cramped 12-hour flight in economy. This company does not keep its promises to its customers and does everything to prevent the use of earned miles. I demand that the cabin upgrade I earned with my accumulated miles be honored.
