Turkish Airlines Unused Ticket Issue
I purchased tickets for my family through the Turkish Airlines app for a Malatya-Istanbul flight scheduled two days after the February 6 earthquake. The flight was canceled due to so-called operational reasons, and the tickets were put on hold. While people who paid for their trips that week couldn't travel, there was chaos with free passengers being transported. That's a separate issue. If I told you what my family went through during that time, you would sit and cry. Anyway, the tickets were put on hold, but it turns out there is an expiration date for such tickets. Just now, when I contacted customer service to use these held tickets, I was informed that I couldn't book them because I missed the expiration date by 10 days. You've already caused enough trouble for my earthquake-affected family; by putting an expiration date on tickets that are supposed to be held indefinitely, you've created another issue. Are you aware that this is not an unsolvable problem? You can issue the tickets that were already paid for to your two earthquake-affected passengers. This is not impossible. Please make things easier, not harder.
