Turkish Airlines Seat Change Without Notice or Approval
On July 9, 2023, I purchased a ticket for flight TK2654 from Istanbul to Erzincan, paying extra for seat selection. I chose seats 5A and 5B. A day before the flight, I did an online check-in and noticed that my seats had been changed without any notification. Interestingly, the option to change seats showed my original seats as occupied. I had no choice but to proceed with the check-in. I then called customer service to explain the situation. I was shocked by their response and tone. They said they could have helped if I had called before checking in. When I asked why my seats were changed without my knowledge, they said it might be due to operational reasons, but they didn't know for sure. The representative's tone was so indifferent and careless that it seemed like they were trying to provoke me. After visiting this site, I saw many similar complaints about seat changes. It appears to be a frequent issue, and if Turkish Airlines is not taking measures to prevent it, it is a deliberate violation of customer rights. They are disregarding the service I paid for. Such practices wouldn't even be acceptable on an intercity bus. Is this what a global giant like Turkish Airlines stands for?
