On April 6, 2024, I purchased seats 3E and 3F as an additional service for Turkish Airlines flight TK2645 from Elazig to Istanbul. When I attempted to check in online a day before the flight, I discovered that my paid seats had been arbitrarily changed and I was assigned seats 6E and 9F, which are not adjacent.
To resolve this issue, I contacted customer service twice. During my first call, it was confirmed that my original seat purchase was visible in the system, but I did not receive a clear explanation for the seat change and was told to resolve the issue at the airport. When I requested a refund, I was informed that Turkish Airlines has the right to change seats even if they are purchased, and no refund would be issued.
Later, when I checked the app again, I saw that I had been assigned seats 18A and 18B instead of 3E and 3F without my knowledge. When I contacted customer service again, I was told that my purchased seats were no longer visible in the system and that they could offer me the frontmost available seats, 9A and 9B. Reluctantly, I accepted these seats.
The next day at the airport, when I inquired about the situation once more, I was again informed by the staff that my purchased seats were not visible. Despite having traveled numerous times, I have never encountered such an issue with Pegasus Airlines. I believe these incidents do not reflect the quality expected from Turkish Airlines. At the very least, they could have contacted me to explain, 'We had to change your seat number for the following reasons. We can offer you another suitable seat or provide a refund.'
