On 21.06.2024, I purchased a flight ticket for TK2220 from Istanbul Airport to Gaziantep at 06:25 AM. On 13.06.2024, I logged into the Turkish Airlines website and paid for seats 5A-5B-6A-6B. However, on 18.06.2024, I received an SMS notification that my seats had been changed without my consent, citing operational reasons. The new seating arrangement placed three of us in 7A-7B-7C and one in 8A. My intention was to secure window seats for my children, who are flying for the first time, and I paid for these specific seats. I fail to see what operational need required moving us to seats behind the wing. Are we not citizens of the Republic of Turkey with equal rights? This change is inexplicable and unjustifiable. It seems someone intervened to make this change, which should not happen in such a large corporate entity. Employees capable of making such changes and those who support this mindset should not be part of the organization. The change was made on 15.06.2024, but I was only notified on 18.06.2024 to avoid any immediate backlash. I have opened a request regarding this issue, and if it is not resolved by my flight date, I will take legal action through my lawyer. Turkish Airlines, please address the internal issues and remove the bad apples from your organization.
