Turkish Airlines Lost My Luggage and Provided Poor Customer Service
On 03.09.2023, I checked in my luggage for the 06:25 flight from Izmir to Sinop. I had a layover in Istanbul. Due to the late departure of the Izmir flight, I barely made it to my connecting flight in Istanbul. Upon arriving at Sinop Airport, I realized my luggage was missing and filed a lost luggage report. Every time I called THY, I explained that I had come here for training and had none of my personal belongings, and requested information about my luggage. After five calls, they told me they couldn't find it in Izmir or Istanbul and that it would reach me within five days. When I expressed my frustration about having no clothes for five days, they kept saying they were making an urgent request. From 11 AM on September 3rd to 11:30 AM on September 4th, I had to live in the same clothes and without any personal items, which was extremely difficult. I called Sinop Airport three times in the morning, and they said they would inform me. Later, they told me my luggage had arrived. After all the distress THY caused me, I had to go to the airport myself to pick up my luggage. This added to my inconvenience. The only way to get to the airport from where I was staying was by taxi. Despite paying a considerable amount for the tickets, I also had to pay for the round-trip taxi fare due to their mistake. Despite filing multiple lost luggage reports, I have yet to receive any response or apology.
