Turkish Airlines Lost My Luggage on Istanbul-Izmir Flight
On August 12, 2023, we returned to Izmir via a THY flight with a layover in Istanbul. However, we couldn't retrieve our luggage. We were informed that it was left in Istanbul. Despite our numerous attempts to locate it by calling several times, our luggage was never found. Moreover, there was no follow-up from THY unless we initiated contact. Ultimately, after 23 days, they admitted to losing our luggage and offered us compensation of ₺540. It's absurd. Our total loss, including the luggage, amounts to ₺17,000. That amount wouldn't even cover the cost of the luggage, let alone its contents. Our lost luggage contained medicines, t-shirts, pants, underwear, cosmetic products, hygiene items, and my spouse's silver rings, among other belongings. It's as if they are mocking us. Will I ever fly with THY again in my life? God forbid. THY does not cover our loss.
