Turkish Airlines Lost Checked Baggage on Toronto to Istanbul Flight
I traveled with Turkish Airlines for the first time on July 6, 2026, on a flight from Toronto (YYZ) to Istanbul, and my checked baggage has been lost since my arrival in Istanbul. When I asked at the Lost and Found desk at the airport, I was told to wait at the carousel because my baggage would arrive there, but it never arrived. I waited for over two hours, at the Airport in Istanbul, but exhausted after the flight, I eventually had to go to my hotel without my baggage. Afterwards, I submitted a complaint through the Turkish Airlines online platform and filled out the Lost Baggage complaint form online. Through this process I received the reference number 2026160387, linked to my booking reference ACKO5C under the name Ayodele Omobola O***. Since that date, my baggage has not been returned to me, and according to the online baggage tracking platform I only being informed that the issue is still being worked on, without any concrete result so far. I have been in Istanbul for two full days without my baggage and have had to continue wearing the same clothes since arriving, which is very uncomfortable. I even had to buy perfume just to prevent my clothes from smelling, as I hesitated to purchase new clothes and other essentials without knowing whether any compensation would be provided, and even if I did, I have no luggage or Bag to put them in for my return travel back to Canada. I request that Turkish Airlines urgently trace and deliver my baggage to me as soon as possible and provide clear, updated information about the status of the search. In addition, considering the inconvenience and the conditions I have been forced to endure since July 6, I also kindly request appropriate compensation in line with your policies and applicable regulations.
