Turkish Airlines Insufficient Compensation for Passenger Rights Violation
On June 15, 2024, I had a connecting flight TK2441 from Antalya to Istanbul and then TK2852 from Istanbul to Ordu. The Antalya flight was scheduled for 14:30, and the Istanbul flight was scheduled for 17:45. When the Antalya flight departed at 18:00, I received a message stating that my Istanbul-Ordu flight was rescheduled from 17:50 on June 15 to 01:20 on June 16. This meant I had to wait over 7 hours at the airport. Upon arriving in Istanbul, I went to the transfer desk, received my new ticket, and was given a dinner voucher. However, the voucher only covered the cheapest meals at most restaurants. There was nothing else provided. For the next 7 hours, I had to pay for my own water, coffee, and internet. This is a violation of passenger rights, and since the delay exceeded 3 hours, I will be contacting the necessary authorities to claim my compensation.
