Turkish Airlines Flight Delay and Overbooking Issue on Izmir-Istanbul Route
On May 14, 2024, we boarded the Izmir-Istanbul TK 2329 flight at 17:00, which was delayed by 20 minutes. After boarding, we noticed that an additional 3 passengers were allowed on the plane, who were left standing at the rear. We were informed of a technical issue, and we had to wait inside the plane for 1 hour in discomfort. Due to the delay, we missed our connecting flight at Istanbul Airport, and our flight was rescheduled to 3 hours later. No apologies or acknowledgments were made. We were blamed for missing the TK 2830 flight scheduled for 19:55 and were rebooked on the TK 2836 flight at 22:45. We arrived in Trabzon at 00:30 and, due to the late hour, we couldn't travel to our residence and had to stay at a hotel in Trabzon, incurring additional costs.
